Ellen Mitchell LPA
Dual-trained in clinical and school psychology, my mission is to help others survive and thrive across the lifespan. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and grounded in resilience, reflective practice, and whole-person well-being.
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. My clinical interests include anxiety, ADHD, emotion self-regulation, executive functioning, adjustment-related concerns, resilience, and learning differences. I also bring extensive experience working in multicultural and educational settings, including school-based mental health, literacy intervention, and support for diverse learners.
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and somatically informed interventions. I have training in psychometric assessment, including cognitive, behavioral, and academic evaluation, to support diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
Before my clinical training in psychology, I invested more than a decade living and working in France as an educator, translator, and bilingual coordinator in multicultural environments. These experiences continue to shape my commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive care and my belief that we do not need to “fit in” to belong.
I strive to create a warm, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where others can speak openly, build practical coping skills, deepen self-understanding, and move toward healthier and more sustainable ways of living. I feel therapy is not about perfection. It is about growth, resilience, curiosity, and learning to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, balance, joy, and self-compassion.
